How to make a fire? (Presentation)

Today our School had a inquiry presentation, me and Stephen worked on making this presentation that is based on "How to make a fire", the reason why we've chosen "How to make a fire", for our presentation is because we can recap what we've learnt from camp and shared it around to the people that is reading this. So one person from each group had to present what they have created as part of their presentation. Me and Stephen have been putting a lot of effort into finishing this off for the School before we showed it to them. I hope you enjoy watching a fantastic presentation.

Stone Store Kemp House (Keri Keri Experience) #Camp

On 22 August 2017, Glenbrae year 7&8 students had a very wonderful opportunity to learn a lot of the history behind the Stone Store and Kemp House in Kerikeri.
The Mission House now known as the Kemp House is the oldest surviving house in New Zealand, the Kemp House was completed in 1822. The owner of the Kemp house was the Missionary family- Including James and Chantell Kemp.

As we stand on the Kemp House property it felt like I was looking at a house which I never knew existed. Their was our tour guide waiting for us so she can show us around the Kemp House. Before we headed off inside the house she told us some facts about the Nga Puhi chief Hone Heke and Hongi Hika.

So our tour guide let us in the House and as I was experiencing the House it was so unique looking at the furniture and looking at a wonderful place. Our tour guide was talking about James and Chantell Kemp in the Kemp House. I was very fascinated to hear our tour guide saying that the Kemp House has been standing since 1822 and that’s almost 200 years.

We went off when our tour guide said so and I was so scared because there was only 5 people to go on the 2nd story due to unstable on the 2nd story. There was heaps of old furnitures in that house and when we came to the kitchen we heard that James Kemp made the kitchen for his wife “Chantelle Kemp”, James knew that Chantelle like cooking for her family.

After we finish exploring the house we said “Our thank you”, to our tour guide and we headed off to the Stone Store. We went upstairs because we get to explore the histories about the Maori’s and the flags, as we were experiencing such a wonderful place we went up to the attic and explore more things that was part of the history of New Zealand. After some time looking at the Stone Store we headed of to a place which was a good experience but I won’t be telling you but I will tell you on my next blog.
